Whether they’re taking control in the office or running a team from home, every girl boss needs to have a space where they feel confident, feminine, and in control. Though every woman will have their own unique style and needs for their office space, there are a few pieces of furniture they should all consider that are empowering, enjoyable, and make the perfect impression for that Zoom or in-office meeting.
Here are four pieces of furniture every girl boss should have.
1) A Desk That Doubles as a Vanity
If you work from home and have a limited amount of space for your home office, consider a piece of furniture that does double duty.
A small reception desk with plenty of drawers for your office supplies, makeup, and hair care tools is the perfect combo of personal and professional.
If you use a laptop, you can swap it out for a lighted makeup mirror when you need to switch from girl boss to glam mode. Office furniture that has more than one use is ideal for women who have to use their bedrooms as office cubicle spaces.
2) A Pink Office Chair
Nothing says ‘girl power’ like a feminine pink office chair. Whether you opt for a pastel version with fuzzy cushioning or a hot pink modern look with sleek lines, your office chair will make a statement. A chair in a bright color like pink will be the focal point of your office space, so consider going minimal on other pieces so you don’t overwhelm your (and your clients’) senses. Remember, your chair is where you’ll spend most of your time, so make sure it’s as comfortable as it is cute.
3) A Bookcase That Makes a Statement
Most girl bosses are proud to be readers who are constantly increasing their knowledge and learning more about how to grow their businesses. Show off how much time you dedicate to continued education with an ornate bookcase in silver, antique bronze, or a modern sleek white. Display your latest reads along with certifications, framed pictures of your family, and unique décor for maximum impact. If you’re working from home, set up your bookcase so it’s the backdrop of your video calls.
4) An Artsy Coffee or Side Table
A coffee or side table can have dozens of uses. It can hold extra lighting or an enticing-smelling candle. It can be a place for your pets or kids to perch if they visit you at your home office table. It can be the ultimate set-up for gorgeous Instagram or Pinterest posts. Make sure your table is making the right impact by choosing a model that is more of a piece of art than a piece of furniture. Consider a round table with a quilted base, a modern black pedestal, or an art piece with a funky base and sleek glass top.
From the boardroom to the home office, girl bosses are making an impact on communities, corporations, and the overall workforce. If you’re a hardworking woman, choose the right pieces for your office to declare your power.
