In 2023, you can get many different physical hearing aids. Some of them work quite well. However, there are also hearing aid smartphone apps that might interest you if you do not hear as well as you once did.
You can browse the hearing aid applications that are out there and find ones that might help you. We have also taken the time to identify some of the better ones available today. Take a few moments and read about them. If one sounds interesting, you might download it to your smartphone and start using it.
Starkey Thrive
Starkey Thrive is free to download, though you can make in-app purchases with it. You can use it as a remote volume control. It also has a mask mode, and you can do both translating and transcribing with it. You can also use it for activity tracking.
Perhaps its best feature, though, is the location geotagging. You can use it to tag specific locations where you know you’ll need hearing aid functionality. This allows your phone to automatically go into that mode when you’re in those locales.
Signia
The Signia app can do battery life monitoring, and it also has remote control capabilities. It works best with individuals who are also using the Signia brand of hearing aids.
It also works as a deep neural network for hearing aids. On top of that, you can use it to quickly and easily set up appointments with hearing aid specialists if you ever need an adjustment.
ReSound
The ReSound app is free, and you can use it as a built-in sound generator if you have tinnitus. The sounds it generates help to mitigate tinnitus so that you can hear better when individuals are speaking to you.

This is also one of the only apps you’ll find that allows you to get all the functionality on the home screen. You don’t need to go to different screens to get to various features, which is convenient.
myPhonak
The myPhonak application is compatible with hearing aids from that same company. It is a remote control for hearing aids.
There are many things you can do with it, including adjusting the direction of the microphone in your hearing aid and reducing background noise around you so you can focus on someone’s voice. You can also program it with custom hearing aid programs that are tailored to your specific needs.
Oticon ON
The Oticon ON app is free, but you do need an Oticon account to utilize it. The best thing about this app is that it’s IoT-compatible. You can do things like fine-tune your hearing aid’s volume control with it, but you can also use it to pair your hearing aids with various wireless networks. It’s like a fitness tracker for your ears.
These are some of the better hearing aid apps on the market. If you have a hearing impairment, you should think about getting them. They often work much better than just a hearing aid by itself.
